Website Design for local Author Carolyn Newton
Carolyn Newton is an accomplished author, historian, and educator in Seneca, South Carolina. A native of the American South, she draws from her creative family roots and lifelong love of history, nature, and storytelling to craft novels that explore resilience, ordinary people doing extraordinary things, and the echoes of the past. Her debut novel, The Refugee’s Daughter, and her forthcoming book, Songs of the Dead Road, have quickly gained readers across the south.
The Challenge
Clemson Web Design partnered with Carolyn Newton to design and develop her new author website from the ground up. The previous online presence made it difficult for readers, book clubs, and event organizers to easily discover her books, learn her story, or connect with her directly.
We created a clean, modern, and beautifully visual website that captures the literary and thoughtful spirit of her work while making every page inviting and easy to navigate. Key sections now spotlight her published and upcoming novels with rich descriptions, purchase links, and reader resources, plus a full author biography, upcoming events and speaking engagements, discussion guides for book clubs, and a dedicated contact area for media and inquiries.
The Solution
The new website includes an intuitive news section, seamless newsletter signup, integrated social media links, mobile-responsive design, and elegant imagery that reflects her love of the South Carolina Upstate and its stories.
