It’s easy for a marketing company to say it can drive traffic, improve search rankings, generate leads, and grow your business.
It’s another thing to demonstrate that those strategies are actually working on its own website.
At Clemson Web Design, we believe your marketing company should be willing to put its own website under the microscope. If an agency is selling SEO, website design, Google Ads, and digital marketing services, its own online presence should provide prospective customers with some evidence that it understands how to compete online.
So we decided to take a look at the data.
How Does Clemson Web Design Compare To Other Seneca Marketing Agencies? We Put the Data to the Test
Clemson Web Design is independently owned and operated in Seneca, South Carolina, and serves businesses throughout Clemson, Oconee County, Anderson, Greenville, and the Upstate.
We’ve spent years building websites and developing SEO and digital marketing strategies for local businesses. Our goal isn’t simply to build a website that looks good. It’s to build a website that can actually be found by potential customers and turn that visibility into business opportunities.
To see how our own website compares with other local marketing companies, we used publicly available SEMrush data estimates to compare Clemson Web Design with two local marketing agencies.
The current SEMrush estimates show a significant difference in organic search visibility.

Clemson Web Design – Leaps Ahead Of Other Seneca Marketing Agencies
SEMRush Data Shows that Clemson Web Design has 15 years of history, and:
– Receives 2,000 estimated organic visits per month
– Is ranking with approximately 1,000 organic keywords
– Has 394 referring domains
– and more than 1,800 backlinks
– Domain Authority Score: 25

Local Competitor #1

SEMRush Data Shows that Keowee only has a few years of history, and almost no organic search traffic:
– Receives 13 estimated organic visits per month
– Is ranking with approximately 53 organic keywords
– Has 160 referring domains
– more than 466 backlinks
– Domain Authority Score: 16
Local Competitor #2

SEMRush Data Shows that this agency has a quite a longer domain history, but again, almost no Search Engine Traffic, which means they likely rely on direct referrals, hence the high Google Review count:
– Receives 40 estimated organic visits per month
– Is ranking with approximately 4 organic keywords
– Has 160 referring domains
– more than 312 backlinks
– Domain Authority Score: 4
As to why Unworths Domain Authority Score is 4 remains a mystery. A domain and website of this age (10+ years) should have a stronger DA ranking.
SEMRush – A Leader In 3rd Party Analytic Data
These numbers are important, but they also need to be put into context.
SEMrush is a third-party SEO platform, and its traffic figures are estimates, not the private Google Analytics data belonging to these businesses. We aren’t claiming to know how many leads, phone calls, or sales another company generates.
What we can see is how these websites are performing in publicly measurable organic search metrics, using free, publicly available SEMrush data.
And the difference is substantial.
Why Does Search Engine Traffic Matter?
A website can be beautiful and still fail to generate meaningful business.
You can have the best professional photography, the most impressive videos, and hundreds of Google reviews, and a great looking website. But if potential customers can’t find you when they’re searching for the products or services you offer, your website isn’t doing everything it could be doing.
That’s where search engine optimization becomes important.
When someone searches Google for a service such as website design in Seneca SC, or another service related to your business, you want your company to have an opportunity to appear in front of that customer.
Ranking for relevant search terms creates an opportunity to reach people who are already looking for what you sell.
That’s fundamentally different from simply putting an advertisement in front of someone and hoping they become interested.
Your Marketing Company Should Market Itself
This is the question we think every business owner should ask before hiring a digital marketing company:
“How well does this company market itself?”
If a company is selling SEO services, look at its own search rankings.
If it is selling website design, look at its own website.
If it is selling Google Ads management, ask about its experience managing campaigns and measuring conversions.
If it is selling digital marketing, look at its own digital footprint.
Nobody should choose a marketing agency based on one metric alone. Experience, communication, pricing, strategy, creativity, industry knowledge, and customer service all matter.
But results matter too.
The Difference Is Clemson Web Design Delivers
At Clemson Web Design, we don’t believe you should simply take our word for it when we say we understand SEO and digital marketing.
Our own website is competing for thousands of search terms and generating thousands of estimated monthly organic visits.
That doesn’t happen by accident.
It comes from years of developing websites, creating useful content, optimizing pages for search, building authority, targeting local search terms, and continuously improving our online presence.
Don’t Just Take Our Word For It, Look At The Data
We believe transparency is important when choosing a marketing partner.
The purpose of this comparison isn’t to tell you that one particular agency is right or wrong for your business. Every company has different goals, budgets, strategies, and priorities.
Instead, we’re encouraging business owners to look beyond the sales pitch.
Ask questions.
Look at the agency’s website.
Look at its search visibility.
Look at its portfolio.
Look at its reviews.
And, when possible, look at measurable results.
Because there’s a big difference between saying you know how to generate traffic and actually building a website that generates traffic.
At Clemson Web Design, we’re proud to put our own website to the test every day.
Don’t just take our word for it. Look at the data.
